M. Price Distributing Co.

M. Price Distributing Co. was founded in September 1933 by Melvin Price and is now a third generation family business. The privately held company is a beverage distributor of products including beer, energy drinks, soda and water. We are located in Hampton and our territory encompasses the Southeast Virginia cities of Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg and Poquoson and the Counties of James City, York, Gloucester and Mathews. We are the leader in beer sales in our territory and strive to continually set the standard of excellence higher and higher in our industry.

M. Price services over 500 on-premise and more than 400 off-premise accounts with 110 valued employees. We provide the highest level of service utilizing a 100% pre-sell system. We pride ourselves with not only having the greatest level of customer service and satisfaction but also a very low employee turn-over rate.

We are committed to the local community through various philanthropic efforts. Each year we directly participate in numerous fundraising events to support local non profit organizations. We also work closely with the military installations within our territory to support our troops that proudly serve our country.

Although M. Price Distributing Co. has been well aware of the longevity and consumer demand of the craft segment for well over a decade we remained an exclusive Anheuser-Busch wholesaler until February of 2009. At that time, we acquired both Legendary Distributing and MicroSource Beverage Co., two well established craft wholesalers in our territory. Along with their brands we brought on board managerial staff from each company with a combined 20 years of passionate experience in manufacture, wholesale and retail of craft beers in our region. We are fully committed to the growth of the craft segment through dedication, education and an infallible supply chain of only the highest quality brands available.

In addition to craft beers, we have also diligently worked at acquiring distribution rights to several non-alcoholic brands over the past few years. With brands such as Monster, Fiji, Nesquik, Honest Tea and Icelandic in our portfolio, we now offer beverages in every category.

In 2008, M. Price celebrated 75 years of business. Not coincidentally, 2008 was also the 75th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition.
